This week as well as focusing on the essay, which is now about feminism essentially, I’ve been thinking about dreams and how we process stress in our dream state. Frequently I dream about making work and with frequent deadlines both for university and work, I think its fair to say its been all consuming. It’s also probably had a lot to do with reading about psychoanalysis.
With that in mind, I decided to make work about dreams, the place where both good and bad esteems are in conflict. Self-doubt is represented by youth, whereas, self-certainty is represented by being comfortable in one’s own skin. I have also taken inspiration from children’s stories such as; The Wizard of Oz and Snow white to add a fantastical element, and with Halloween on the calendar – its probably fair to say that has been an inspiration too.
