Intimate Revello

Victoria Burch

Updated: Jan 18, 2019

Over the course of the summer I have visited several different exhibitions which include five in Malaga whilst on holiday. I have also been busy with outdoor sketching and painting. Examples of which can be seen on my Flickr photostream at; https://www.flickr.com/photos/victoriaburch/

Of the summer exhibitions, one of my favorites artists was undoubtedly Felix Revello De Torro at the Revello De Toro Museum. I've posted two examples of my favorite pieces; 'Elementos De Pervivencia', 1978, and 'Vision Unitaria', 1998, both of which are examples which evidence De Torros skill at painting whites and transparent objects. What cannot be seen in the images however is De torros exquisite brush work.

One of the other highlights for me where his wonderful drawings, in these you can clearly see his fabulous free, loose style with a pencil and graphite. Although mostly figurative work of people (mainly women) on display, his painting of objects were exceptionally beautiful. The exhibition culminated with a final piece of his current wife, 'Sumida en elsueno', 1989, 'a symphony of his famous whites' and one of his favorite pieces, as quoted by the brochure.
